mounting subs backwards

It's called "inverted"

And no, you don't need "special" subs. You can do it with any subwoofer.

You just flip the sub around and instead of mounting the rear of the sub inside the enclosure, you mount it inverted so that the rear of the sub is outside of the enclosure.

how is it done?do you need special subs?

or does it not matter?

noob lookin for some info

(and by backwards i mean with the magnet on the outside of the box)

Nope no special subs. Other than looks, only thing gained is a little volume from the basket displacement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Everyone that is volume in AREA^3. Lets keep the n00b questions on, "is it louder?" from coming.

you only need to reverse polarity, if you have one sub mounded inverted and one mounted "normal. If all subs are mounted inverted do not reverse polarity.
I like to try it wired both ways. Sometimes it will surprise you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

then why would you reverse the polarity if only one was inverted one one mouted regular why not both if there both mounted iverted

When you invert only one, you will have to reverse polarity on one in order to keep the subs in phase with each other. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
