okay i have my door panels off and are ready for deading. i have a question about mounting the speaker in the stock plastic cup thing in my s10. i wanna put it in the mdf ring then screw the ring to the plastic cup. is there a better way to do this? should i screw the speaker and grill to the wood and all the way though to the plastic cup?? thanks for your help

I havent worked on an s-10 in forever. The last time I did, I took the stock baffle out and made a ring to fit. Deden the door well and screw the baffle into the sheet metal. Be sure to stay clear of anything important. If you want to use the stock baffle a thin piece of MDF will work, but be careful, the plastic can crack when screwing into it.

okay well if i do that i gotta double up the mdf rings to get it to get the back of the mid to clear the window track. and the reason you havent worked on a s10 in forever is cause we do it all ourselves!!!!!! lol jk

i actualy did this earlier today on my jimmy, i just added a .5" spacer to the platic baffle. Just sunk the srews threw the mid, wood then plastic. They held good, i used 1.25" drywall screws. Also did a half *** job deadening my doors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
