mounting depth

I have a 95 Civic and want to get some speaker spacers. Dose any one know the mounting depth for this car? I have comps going in with 2 3/4" mounthing depth. what size spacers should i get? i was wanting to use the original speaker grill from the car so the install would look clean. I'v all ready done a search and a google and nothing.

bah i have the same car. um same problem too. hmmmm.... yeah teh 2.75 fit but i know that 3" wouldnt. mabye around 2.83 depth or something... a guess

^^i was trying to ball parkit so that the spacer and the speaker would leave enough room to fit the sock door grill. I had some spacers given to me that i think were a lil over 1'' thick and the grill hit the speaker once put on it and it rattled. I just have it with out the grill right now and there is a big ugly space between the speaker and the rest of the door panel.

How much were they out? If it was only 1/4 to 1/2 inch, you could make some trim rings out of 3/4 or 1/2 MDF.

i'm not sure how far they were out. they looked pretty flushed to the surface. What tools are needed to cut out the rings? I dont have many tools and specially not a jigsaw.
