mounting crossovers?

I had my components installed by Circuit City months ago and I'm going to install an amp and some coaxials in the rear in the next two weeks. I took apart my doors today to remount my mids because CC did such a crappy job and I can't find the crossovers. They are not in the door or in the kickpanel. Could they be behind the factory headunit? It's a 2002 Maxima. I've searched the Maxima.org forums but I couldn't find an answer.

If you had bose and they bypassed the factory amp, check the trunk. They would most likely put them there if not in the doors because of the amp back there, but then again it might be in the gas tank, they might put stuff in crazy places.

I don't have the Bose. The only place I can think of is behind the hu or maybe near the pillars. Hell they probably didn't even use them...could be why they sound so bad.

The speakers were a gift and the install was already paid for. I had no idea how to install them when they were given to me. But I've learned alot from the forum in the time since then and I want to be able to install or modify things myself.
