Mounting amp under front seat

The floor under my seat is pretty flat. It sits under there perfectly and doesn't move around at all.

If it did move around, I'd likely velcro it in place. Or do something fancy with zip ties. Just keep how the seat moves in your head at all times.

Velcro is what I was thinking too. The only thing I don't want to much is to have a couple pieces of velcro permanently stickied to my carpet, because I know if I put em there, they won't come off. It's not a big deal, if I have to I will, but I'm not huge on it :p

Ahhh, see I wouldn't have to really think twice about it because my carpet is black //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I put velcro on my amp legs and it sticks to the carpet (use the hooked side) just fine, i actually have a hard time to get it off the carpet compared ot what i thoguht it was going to be like.

I am thinking about putting a piece of MDF under the carpet, maybe 1/2" or so...

Probably won't do this right away, but when I get my deadener and get that project underway, I can put a piece of MDF under the carpet (I could even do it on both sides) and then silicone it down to the top of the deadener. That would give me a solid mounting surface. That way I can mount my Sirius tuner, amp, soon to come video amp, and whatever else I might want to put down there.

I was going to suggest what MrSector9 already did ~ if you attach the hooked side of the Velcro to the amp it should hold pretty well to automotive carpeting (provided the chosen mounting position is fairly flat) and there will be nothing permanently stuck/attached to the carpeting.

While reading the proposed idea of mounting a Sirius tuner, a video amp, the amp originally in question, etc I have to wonder.....what kinda vehicle is this to have to much space under a seat? Do you drive a truck or a van (or a big-ass older car) with a bench seat up front or something?

dont make it more difficult then it has to be. what kind of car do you have? 1/2 of mdf would make my amps would struggle for room. im sorry would be dying for room. i thought i had to make a comment before going to bed. good night.

I think I tried using the hooked side of velcro before, iI don't think it worked too well

the car is a 2004 civic coupe, not that I have a lot of space under the seats, but I have BOTH seats to work with :p the plan is to have the amp under hte passenger seat and the sirius module and video amp under the drivers.

Actually you don't need the mdf under in at all. You can just run some short screws into the carpet and mat. They will twist enough fibers around them to hold them in place. I have done this on alot of trucks when under the seat was the only option for the amp. No holes in the floor and no trying to fit mdf under the seat with the amp.
