lol one time we pulled a deck out of a titan with the RF system, and the deck said panasonic. pwnt.

Wow, thats a rather nice deck. I have always wanted to own an Eclipse, but that deck is out of my price range.. Im looking in the $800's or so...
How much do seperate EQ's run and can I control them from the screen?

I cant justify spending that much. I was only looking into this for the price range I was in. If anything, Ill just get my deck repaired.... Strictly on my budget. Im not into car audio as much as I use to. I also live in Dallas, already had my truck broken into for my radar detector a week after I got my Titan.

those are msrp prices, look on ebay for cheaper.
then look for a cheap dvd deck(Jensen?) and look at an RF 360.2(need a pda w/ bluetooth) or find a PPI DCX-730

Im looking for cheap, but not Jenson cheap. Ill keep my alternator whining deck before I go Jenson..

You will not get what you want for the price you are willing to pay. Go with the simple double din with an external eq. It is cheaper and more effective anyway. You could go with the Alpine combo or Panasonic makes a flip out with 7 bands and cool features. I have a Kenwood and want the Alpine setup if that tells you anything. Nothing wrong with the Kenwood but I want more POWER!

im currently using a crappy audiovox flipout with a kicker KQ9and a sony active xover running my 3-way front stage, and it sounds pretty darn good IMO.

I can control the external EQ with the flip out dvd right? Im not new to car audio, but I am new to DVD screens and units

you plug RCA's out of the DVD player into the EQ, and then go from the EQ to the amp. seperate controls

You have some options on the eq. Go with a trunk mount (usually cannot adjust from the dash unless its electronic like the Audio Control DQXS or Alpine 701). Go with a dash mount and turn some knobs... fun for the entire family. Or go with a HU with enough EQ to satisfy you.

Yes, I know it's Jensen.

But I installed quite a few of these at CC, and IMHO, they're excellent units. They were on 24/7, and always playing. They are very full-featured, and reliable. The touch screen always worked, the screen's resolution was excellent, it has an SD reader, iPod hookups, backup camera capability, XM-ready.... i mean, it's got everything and I believe theyre working on nav for it.

My manager was quite the perfectionist, and even he put one in his car and liked it.

Pair it up with something like this and you're in business.

oh, and something like this for the backup camera. We put one of those on an F250 and it worked great.
