Motorcycle stereo advice needed

Greetings! I just joined, hoping to get some help with upgrading the stereo on my bike. Not sure how to word this but here goes: I'd like to replace the 25 yr old cassette deck with a unit that either has a USB port or an input for my MP3 player. I don't want a CD player since it'd be useless with all the vibration. I don't care if it has a radio either. Is what I'm looking for available? Is it possible to just plug my MP3 into a small amp with controls or, if I have to, use the volume control on the MP3 player? Whatever I end up with will be powering (2) 3" speakers. Any help would be VERY appreciated.

Thanks,

I think Fusion makes a headunit that's specially for I-pod and mp3, no cd player is in it. I don't think you can control the I-pod through the unit though. However, you usually change your volume with the h/u itself, once you adjust the volume of the ipod/mp3. If your only powering two 3'' speakers, the headunit's internal amp should power them good with 15-25rms.

Thanks for all the responses!! I like the idea of that little unit posted on ebay. Doesn't get any simpler than that. My only complaint is that I haven't found any American sellers of a similar unit on ebay. I also like the idea of seeing what Todd zier did. No sense in reinventing the wheel. Does anyone have a link to his bike stereo project thread?

Thanks again,
