The hybrid/dotech/millenium series are from the Israel based morel company, and as such haven't populated the united states like one would like - they are fairly impossible to get in terms of a standard brand.

The US based Morel USA has the SR series components which are highly reguarded from a good deal of people - and the DIY drivers are well known and loved.

yeah - u r right...the Do-tech, ther Hybird and the millenuim are israel based components....but I think that hybird (that is the best from this 3 series) will be good enough and even VERY good...if the compeney concidered to be good...

and if u have any knolege about it - I would really appriciate it....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

thnx

Well... the Morel hybrid line, which I have purchased but not yet installed, gets my vote (I've never heard the rennaisance line from morel usa though).

When I auditioned them I put them up against some serious components. I was looking for 6.5" components, as it my audi only has mounting holes for 4" in the dash, so I just physically do NOt have room for a 3-way (and I am still not 100% sure the 6.5's will work, but I won't contemplate ******* just yet). I was looking for detailed midrange/highs, with very good on and off axis sound WITHOUT being harsh. Also, I listen to a fair amount of older metal/hard rock, and HATE when it sounds like any music is coming from behind you. So it was of the utmost importance that the component set have great low frequency extension, both for punch and for blending with the sub in the hatch.

The Hybrids did NOT disappoint. I had with me a few songs that I was intimately familiar with (Tool - Sober, Our Lady Peace - Clumsy, Enya - Exile, Tea Party - The River) just to make sure I had SOME kind of an idea what I was looking for. The detail was impressive. On the song 'Exile', you could hear all of the subtle nuances in her voice that many headphones don't really catch, but at the same time it didn't have the surgical sound of the MB Quart Qs I was listening to (that cost 2-3x as much). It's hard to describe, but it wasn't as annoyingly harsh as the Q's (and yes.. I specifically made them set up the Qs very off-axis as they are designed to be run), but at the same time had that surgical precision that sent shivers down my spine. I hope I'm making sense here.

As far as volume goes, my ears gave out before I noticed any distortion or breakup, but then again I listen to my music at sane levels MOST of the time, so I was more worried about how they would perform the 90% of the time when they were not making me hurt.

As far as midbass goes, they were great. I ran every good set of components that they had there off of a VERY capable amplifier (rockford Type RF putting out lots of very clean power.. didn't get the model though). The difference between the midbass (and even slightly lower) on the morels and anything else in the store was like night and day. The simplest way to say it, is that the music sounded good without any sub running whatsoever. Certainly no thump to it, but the MB Quart Qs sounded like *** without a sub. Same with anything offered by Alpine, Rockford, Kicker, MB Quart DEI, etc...

Am I looking forward to doing my install with them this summer? HELLL YEAH

Another interesting thing to note, is that the Do-tech 6.5" components sounded 98% as good as the hybrids at less than half the price. I suspect the hybrids will hold their sound better as the volume increases beyond safe listening levels. In hindsight, howerver, I'd buy the DoTechs if I had to do it again.

thnk ya for the shareing the info about u'r surveys and comperoson with other components...and not so long ago I heard the Do-Tech Comonnent, I loved the sound and therefor I decided to get myself the hybird cuz I am going to get myself the rockford 550X (well I cant afoord myself the RF yet) and I"ll put the Hybird on 2 chns' and on the other chans I"ll put Sub.....so I want the front sound to be clean and as perfect as possiable.....and as I got from u'r expiriance that The hybird is Exaclly wehat I am looking for....and I have ordered it....

10x for the info...
