Sounds like a good opportunity, I'd offer him closer to 5. Besides that, when you buy cars from friends, it stays in the "family" and you know where its been.

Well he knows its worth more than 4k, he bought it brand new for 13. He just wants a "sportscar" and doesnt want to deal with selling it private. I told him I would give him whatever the dealer gave him if he was serious.

I dont race. I just drive from A to B. HP/Torque, all that shit doesnt matter to me. I think this is a nice reliable chevy for 4k, I think its a steal. Bluebook I think its like 5200 for private party, which I couldnt find any CObalts even close to 4k that is in this kind of condition.

Yeah I figured he could get more like 5-6k out of it, He just for whatever reason doesnt want to deal with the hassle of people test driving it and shit.

he should sell it privately......those dealers are gonna PIIHB if he trades it in. Let's say he sells it for let's say 6grand and then gives the dealer 4g's....now he has 2k for a system or rims or w/e.

Also I dont think hes getting a deal with the trade in, his credit and his dads credit is so good they could probably get any car they wanted and pay like 2% financing IF that.
