Trying to decide what exactly I shoudl do for mids/highs to keep up with a lot of bass... I asked about horns over on ROE but replys there are few and far between. Then I got it in my head, may be I should just run a bunch of components instead.
I would be running 4 sets of whichever... (they are cheap since I would be buying 4-6)
looking at:
-POWERBASS S6C 6.5" 210W 2-way component speaker system ($29.99)
-Autotek AT6.2C 6-1/2" 250W 2-Way Super Sport AT Series Component Speaker System ($31.95)
-Crunch GRP6.5C 6.5" 300W Ground Pounder Component Speaker System ($37)
-Planet Audio "Torq Series" TQ60C 6.5" 2-Way Component Speaker System ($41.95)
there are a bunch of BOSS systems too but IDK... last I knew boss was total junk...?
now IIRC you can wire 4) 4ohm SVC speakers to a 1ohm or 4ohm load, so with 8 I would be looking at either TWO 1ohm loads or a single 2ohm load... SO i would probably just run a mono-block at 2ohm to make it easy. Most likely an Autotek Super Sport AT1000 which is 500 RMS @ 2ohm...
or I can run 5 sets at 1.6~ohm (if the AT1000 could handle a 1.6ohm load)
Budget on this would be around $200, I like to have stuff match so I personaly think 4-5 sets of the Autoteks on the Autotek AT1000 would be good.
