More power or more speakers ?

Hi, I have a Dodge Nitro with mb quartz qsd216 comps (old German ones) in the front. I am using the passive crossovers that came with the QSD's. Right now I also have jl audio tr600's in the rear doors. Front and rears are running off a jl audio 300/4 amp. I'm looking for loud/clean sound quality. After reading some sql threads I see most dont run rear fill, so I started fading my hu all to the front. it does have a better sq stage, but seems to be lacking in depth. I want to go 3 way active with an 80prs HU. Do you think I would benifit more by giving the Qsd's more power with a larger amp, or adding a quality 2" or 3" driver in pods on the A pillars? I think the qsd's are rated for 170 watts. oh yah, i also have a 12W7 running on a jl 1000/1 in the back.

Depth can seem to be increased with rear speakers. Adding more speakers and/or more power up front will not affect depth. You can make the front of the sound stage sound farther away, which is often mistaken for a deeper stage.

so you think I should keep the rear fill? Or just play with imaging, crossover and eq when I get the pioneer 80prs? or both?
