More power, less sound?!

It is still wired to only use one coil. You can think of it like two subwoofers put side by side. You notice how in yours there are no wires going from the left side of the sub to the right side? There's no power going through the right side.

Well if he only had one voice coil hooked up it wasn't driving the woofer linearly so it probably would be quieter than even if it was hookd up correctly in series. That proper motion is in addition to the greater power when they are hooked up in series so he may get a good jump in sound. What kind of box do you have it in? Do you have any actual photos of the setup? I'm curious.

Shit! I put in a bass tester CD and it blew the hatch off the back of my car! Just kidding:naughty: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif :naughty:

Uhm. Well, let me just say, that with the old RF, I had to take the rear view mirror apart and tighten it up. I had it so tight that no matter what, the mirror wouldn't move.

I just played a couple of songs and my friggin mirror is moving out of place again! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif :naughty: I'm seeing things vibrate that I've never seen before. **** that thing is loud. And a lot cleaner sound when it's cranked than the RF.

I saw a request for pics. Let me see if I can get some. For all the help you guys gave me you deserve it.

Wire the sub in parallel and hook it to one pos. and one neg. on the amp.It may have two pos. and two neg. terminals but that doesn't mean it's a 2 channel amp. It's wired in parallel internally.

Lmao, no.I always get a kick out of people who think only hooking up one VC will cause non linear movement and only one side to move.

Looks like the installer didn't know how to properly wire a sub, got it close but not quite.I didn't even bother reading the other two pages with my last reply.Glad to see you got it working again.

Here are some pics. It's a little messy right now, but you get the idea.

It's in a 6th gen civic hatch. It's a sealed enclosure. And man does that thing thump now. Thanks guys.

Look forward to my next thread: "Good vibrations: Help, my doors fell off"
