more gain means more wattage???

When you turn up the gain of an amp, the amp is being forced to throw more watts or something like that??

no, the amp puts out it's rated rms. The gain, is like the sensitivity...the more sensitive your volume control is when u turn it up. the gain adjusts the amount of voltage that ur rca's get...if i am not mistaken. And, if u match the voltage...that is when u will get the best sounding output. Some1 else can get more technical, but that is my limited understanding. peace
