More Cone less power or less cone more power?

Lol.

That is about as close to a real answer you will probably get.

But seriously how would we know? what kind of subs? what kind of vehicle? how much space do you have to give up? what kind of box? what kind of installation? Are you upgrading electrical?

I am so amazed this question get asked every single day....

hmm correct me if I'm wrong but thats the same power?
And your point? that had nothing to do with his question.

But anyway you cant tell whats gonna be louder its all based on the box and install worth. Usually more cone area means more output. BUT take alan dante for example, he was beating guys with 34 10's with 1 15 this year. Its about using your install skills and using your resources wisely.

That has everything to do with the question since the title of the thread says

More Cone less power or less cone more power?

YES read my post... ill put these in terms so everyone can understand.. if u had 4 12's with 2500 watts and tried 2 15's with 2500 watts which do u think would be louder! there you go guys

Everyone has said that generally speaking the 4 12's would win because there is more cone area. The reason why people are annoyed is because your title says more power when in actuality you're using the same overall power whereas you're thinking it's more power because there is more power PER SUB with the 2 15's.

But to answer your question as it's stated, assuming the 12's can get loud off 625w each they should win out simply because of more cone area. As many others mentioned, though, it's very install-dependent and there are plenty of variables that could commingle and ruin this prediction.

Well one of the two choices has more disaplacement potential AND less power compression potential, assuming we are comparing apples to apples. Looking at it that way, the answer is really a no brainer isn't it?
