More bass from HU?

I had all my gains for my amps set by the local installer that I got all my equipment from, and they told me my lack of satisfaction from the bass (or lack thereof) could easily be fixed by messing with my head unit settings (eclipse cd5000). I am not sure how to do this and I don't want to just turn the loud function on. I just got the deck installed and I don't have much experience with all these functions because I just upgraded from an eclipse 3403. Anyone that has any ideas for what I can do please let me know, thanks.

I am going through the manual right now, anyone with the same or similar head unit that has any advice I appreciate your input. Everyone else..durr.
