Mono or Duel?

Would it be better to have a mono channel amp split to run two subs (alpine) or just get a duel channel amp?

Either way doesn't matter.....get whichever one has the power you need and is at a price you can afford. The only difference may be that the mono might be a little more efficient (won't kill your electrical system as much) since *most* monoblocks are class D and most 2 channels are class A/B (class Ds are more efficient than class A/Bs up till around full output, then they are pretty equal, but you'll hardly ever push either of the amps to full output).

so how exactly does that work then? wiring a mono amp for two subs. Do you almost literaly just split the wires for the one input for two?

You wire both subs together, then wire the pair to the amp

Mono is more efficient and I personally think it sounds better than a dual channel amp...

In all honestly, if both were the same power and quality brands, I seriously doubt you would be able to hear a difference.
