Mono Amp Graveyard

Something is definitely messed up. You shouldn't be blowing amps like that unless you are dropping down to like 10v.
Thiss^^^ yet, im also thinking your subs are possibly wired to a lower ohm load than the amps capabilities..What ohms load you wire your subs too??how did you wire them?

sounds like bad grounds.... i blew one that way before. i didnt even have my subs playing. i have my sub control on hu switched off and was just driving with my highs and all the sudden i hear something that sounds like popcorn, then the wifey turns around and says your amps on fire.... i checked my ground in back. i barely even touched it and it came out of the terminal that was bolted down...lol

and you wonder why i say it was your fault for blowing the db drive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

The specs on your subs indicate dvc 2ohm,@1100rms each, and that amp is stable down to 1.3 ohms. with those subs, and that amp,you should be wired in Series/Parallel in a 2ohm load,or Series/Series in a 8ohm load..YOU SHOULD BE WIRED TO A 2OHM LOAD ON THE SUB FOR THE AMP TO HANDLE THE LOAD.I myself think you have wired your subs to a 1/2 ohm load, running PARALLEL/PARALLEL..cooking/roasting your amps, and toasting your sub coils at the same time..tell us how you wired your subs?I think that is the culprit situation:boink: not power supply and all that bs..13v?any amp should run at that, but not very long if your setting it up to roast hot dogs

I would agree. Not to mention there could be a wide range of issues including the ground. Not to say he has a bad ground as he says he does, but I have been doing this for a very long time and I never take anything at face value.

OP

Pics of your wiring including sub wiring, grounds, and power would be helpful.

shut up.... i fixed the ground problem. i got another amp put it in. never had a problem. then sold it and got the db drvie..... oh by the way how much you want with mine on trade lol:laugh:

my amps are at about half way.. depends on HU voltage, i set them with a DDM too..

now OP, id reccomend you redoing all of your grounds to proper points, along with measuring the voltage at your amps terminals, ive had it in the past where my cars voltage is 13.9, but the amp was receiving 12.6 due to a bad fuse causing resistance.

Also, you may have had them wired down to .5 like suggested above, but the amp never received that load due to box rise typically pulling it up an ohm or so, but when you hit that tuned frequency, little rise is present, and the amp couldnt handle the load.
