Money pouch needed for back packing through Europe?

So I'm going to be backpacking through Europe this summer and was wondering what you guys thought about money pouches? (like the kind in eurotrip) Are they needed and what are some good brands? Other ideas to carry around passport and etc?

belt wallet....passport wont fit in but your money will always be safe

great idea, they are invaluable over there. they keep all your valuable documents on you.
