Momo vs two channel

What would the benefit be of getting a high-powered 2-channel amp versus a mono block amp for a Rockford Fosgate Pl1-2 (two 10" rated at 300 RMS 600 peak at 4ohms each)?

I am looking at either the T600-2 or a P500-1bd, But am open to other suggestions.
