Molded Amp Rack

Ok, so is FG'ing THAT hard? I really want to be custom with it, but I just don't have the confidence to do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

just get some supplies and try a small project after doing some research. as you try, youll fail, then learn. research your mistakes, after some reading and practice youll get better...

thanks man, after seeing this awesome build, it may be the catalyst and motivation i needed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. that looks SO clean. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i want it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So compared to a MDF box, price wise, will fiberglass cost around the same (minus man hours) as far as supplies will i still stay in the 30ish dollar rang for a box?

Supplies will put you over that range.
hes right, especially if you use the good stuff, which i recommend. for practice, the bondo shit is ok, but as soon as you get the hang out dabbing mat and shit, switch right out. youd be amazed at how much easier things go with good supplies.

id say get the right from the start, but theres two perks to starting with bondo shit..

1. its cheap.

2. for the first few projects, chances are you will trash them, and in the process of building them, youll waste alot of materials. everyone thats new at it usually does. you wont have as much of a hard time parting with them if you didnt spend too much on supplies.

a small update on this. im sick of it sitting around, i dont have the time to prep it for paint, so i decided to wrap it. this amp is in the process of being sold, so i just want this finished up.

other side should be done tomorrow or the night following.

so i ended up wrapping this, im not sure if i like it or not though. the sides are not perfect because they wont be seen. just the ends. ill try to get it installed tomorrow or this week so to decide if ill keep it that way or not. keep in mind this is my old setup, so this wont be in the truck for too long...

Not bad my man, not bad at all. Next time before you stretch the fleece. Cut a rabbit in the lower panel where you stapled your fleece. Then staple the fleece in the rabbit. Makes finishing an arse ton easier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks guys.. i know about the rabbeting trick, thats what i typically do, but my router shit the bed the week or too that i started doing this... i was going to warp the material underneath, and i forgot i would be able to mount it if i did that, but it was too late... like i said, this wont be in the truck for too long, so its no big deal.

I se a table saw in one of your first pics. Set the fence 1/4" away from the blade. Set the blade height to match the depth you want your rabbit. THen get to cutting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
