Modifying to 1 ohm

I have a Memphis 1500d and want to modify it to 1 ohm. All I have seen is to make it 1 ohm "stable" you need to remove a resistor or something to make it not go into protect. Is this true? Is there any information to show me how to do this?

i know you can do it on the mtx 1501d. maybe you mis-read. maybe you didn't. i know nothing about memphis
