if i remember right theses mids were designed more for IB than anything, like being used in the door rather than in a small kick panel? i had them for about a year till i recently got some hsk's.

but anyway, mine are sitting around so im making some book shelf or small towers out of them for my friends new place. how big of an enclosure would suite it? or i could just port it then tune somewhere above the fs of the mid. if ported whats a general tuning? never built ported book shelfs so whats the deal?

these are going to be in a small apartment that 1 bed 1 bath, so about maybe 15 by 20 ft common living room. and maybe add a sub for a 2.1 system later!

Oh, haha, I didn't even think to look. Honestly, you will probably get much higher quality responses over there for this question. The forum may move a little slower, but it is probably worth the wait.

ok so this is what i came up with for now.

i was recommended .75 ported at 45hz. i couldn't wait for my friend that im building these for to finally throw down on some materials for the stereo. (he just moved in, he is broke!)

friends dont let friends jam on crappy stereos! so with scraps from other builds, im building a test box at .5 sealed with 2 shirts inside cause i dont have any acoustic foam or poly fill lol

mr t says enough jibber jabber on with pics.

ive always like these tweeters but never heard them outside the car. this setup has airy highs, great mid range that are great for acoustics guitars and vocals and drum overheads. but the lower mid range and upper mid bass is lacking. i cant wait to get the rta on this. over all paired with a sub, it would make a good 2.1 computer setup. but i need mains for a 5.0 setup. so i cant wait to try the real cabs soon.

edit: using my laptop camera, only good lighting was in the bathroom lol
