Mixing subs ftw!

... flat response according to what? your ear? rta?

never tested it with an RTA but some very picky people have heard it not just me... a friend who has competed in SQ commented that he was shocked how flat the responce was, and that he would've never expected it to sound that good...

and yes audioholic, i do regret it a bit, i've allready said (although you might not have read the thread) that i plan on selling the 13 and porting the 10's and after i fix the blazer up alot, add 2 more 10's and another 1000/1 (1 amp to 3 subs)

but i think i've made the best of it in my ability and it's not a loss because i got a SWEET deal on the 13 for buying the 10's and the subs and amp that are in my truck now

edit: oh yea btw... you were in highschool in 8th grade? or is that just what "they" told you to keep you from making noise and drooling?

I own an RTA, I bet you'd be surprised how irregular a system really is that someone without a very well trained ear thought was perfect. Maybe you did just luck upon a winning combination, but its more likely you are simply missing the potential. I think you are on the right track ditching the 13 and porting those 10's... should be plenty of output. Good luck with it.

I dont think Ive ever said it will sound like shit. Ive said all along the over all stereo system would be better off with one setup, or the other (and I agree, keep the 10's).
Even some cheap crap can sound ... pretty good ... when in a really good setup. Ive heard some systems that surprised me, given the equipment used. And of course, Ive heard my share of the opposite as well.

COT, while I will admit that is a strange "mix" you have there. I "mix" subs often with outstanding results, so don't be scared to be different. If you like it that is most important anyway.
