mixing component sets

Can I mix components with them still sounding decent? I have the CDT EF-61CF right now, and Id like to try the Rainbow SLC265 woofers/xovers. And leaving the CDT tweeter. I think the cdt tweeter is the tw-24 (not sure).

any insight would be sweet from anyone who has done this

Sure you can mix the speakers up. But you want to make sure the xover has the appropriate xover points needed for both speakers. Make sure the CDT tweets are designed to play the frequency range the xover allows.

Or you could do even better and go active...

im just looking to see if it will work well, before I buy them. trying to be a smart consumer here.
