Missing Speaker Wires

My 1986 Ford F150 dash wiring harness has these combinations:

White / White with black

Gray / Gray with black

Green

Purple

The wiring Harness for my new JVC stereo has these:

White / White with black

Gray / Gray with black

Green / Green with black

Purple / Purple with black

How should I hook this up?

I have connected all the color combinations and left the Green with black and the purple with black unconnected from the stereo. This gives me sound on the left but nothing on the right?

Any suggestions?

http://www.the12volt.com has wiring information for many vehicles; find what function which color serves. In the manual that came with your stereo it says what function which color serves on the adapter. Match the functions, not the colors.
