That's not a promise you can reasonably make. You weren't the one that instituted this silliness to begin with and with the complete lack of interest the Admin apparently has in the normal day-to-day goings on within his own forum I wouldn't say that I particularly have any degree of faith in his "warning" having much longterm effect.

i was banned for a day by noah. my first response was to laugh my *** off at the reason then next i sent him a friendly IM on aim calling him a douche. other than that, it's 1 ****ing day, seriously from saturday-sunday can you guys not find a women, hobby(other than online searching), ****, driving your car, seeing your family etc etc etc to keep you occupied long enough? now if he had perma banned or banned for a week, that's harsh but 24 hours, no big deal.

Is being banned from CA.com the end of the world? Hardly. Is that even the point here? Again ~ hardly. If there was a TOS violation that personally affected you in some fashion you'd be one of the first to jump up and down screaming from the hilltops that the offender in question get a vacation.
Why shouldn't the mods be held up to the same standards?

I understand that being a mod here is a rather thankless job. You're constantly under attack for one reason or another, there's no pay, it's a PITA of a responsibility if for no other reason than the amount of traffic this site sees and consequently the percentage of n00bx cubes floating in and out is pretty high, etc etc etc. The list of reasons why being a CA.com moderator just plain SUX is potentially endless.

That being said....if you don't want the job? Don't take it. /story. If you do take the job? Then do it right or see the previous statement. Again, /story.

A perceived necessity to end personal boredom by randomly banning people for (...what was it again? Oh, yeah! Opening a thread on an online discussion board ~ gee, who'd have ever thought of doing that?!?) doing something that the nature of the environment plainly invites you to do is simply assinine. I'm well aware that you are hanging firmly from Noah's nutz and if that is a posture that both you and he are comfortable with then more power to the both of you. My opinion, however, of this being one of the most incredibly ignorant things ever instituted on this forum isn't one that I hold by myself. Don't like my opinion? Good. You don't have to. Outside of that, however, since the thread eventuated into a discussion about the mods in general....let me reiterate....NO, being banned from the site for 24 hours will not end the world or any particular individual's standing in it. That's not the point here and if you'd open your eyes and spit out the nutz you have your lips wrapped so firmly around to look at it with some degree of objectivity you'd see it too.

do i think mike was ban happy or thread delete happy at one point? yes. do i think noah's actions were unjust and stupid? yes. do i think they were funny? yes. do i think that jntar's argument with the guy from australia about the SPL level and the contest was stupid and banning him and deleting his post count was an act of mod's abusing power? in a way yes. you want to pick apart what i'm saying be my guest you have a monitor, tower, and keyboard you're fully able to say anything you want to be it right or wrong.

do i really think what i said was in anyway shape or form wrong or on noah's nuts? definetly not. I'd defend or say what i said in regards to ANY mod on this place no matter who it was. come on man, you cannot sit there and honestly think that if you go and ban 30 people for the mere reason of clicking a thread titled "thread" that there wasn't gonna be some sort of shit storm to follow. you and noah may think it's funny, but a lot of those members that got banned were fairly new members and may not of known the humor behind it. they probably don't know a lot of the veteran members or who the mods are. they come on this forum looking for advice and then get banned for nothing. they are gonna assume the mods are assholes. me and you have been here awhile so we know about the mods and can laugh at it. my only problem with this was i was in the middle of a transaction when it happend. anyways you cannot tell me you were this naive. you cannot tell me that banning over 30 people who didn't violate tos would help the forum, who the mods keep saying is a shithole. noah brought this on himself. i don't know what the op deal was with goddy, but goddy suprisingly has been tolerable recently. anyways as jntar said, it's funny get a sense of humor, well i find these threads funny so get a sense of humor

i said noah was wrong 3 times in that response. i also had no idea it was over 30 people, i only knew of 8. in that manner i'll still say noah was wrong as i have many times. i never said it wasn't did i? that's all i'm saying i took it as a joke b/c i've been here a while, did i think it was wrong yes but did i defend the act? i said i found it funny. again i'll apologize for being a jerk about it as i'm just f*cking tired and beyond pissed. for an accident that i am now seemingly losing the ability to further my career(pro golfer i was going to play to get my PGA tour card next spring), but no it seems the only eye witness said i ran a red light when i know i didn't and i'm getting f*cked over by insurance and stuck with 32k of med bills.

again i'll apologize i'm just tired and generally in a horrible mood. i had no idea it was 30+ people i thought it was like 8-10 at most.
