might be a dumb ? about gauge wire...

OK, this might be a dumb question but i havent installed a whole lot... gauge wire, the smaller the gauge does is pass more power through or does higher gauge?

Reasoning... powr wire from batt. to distro block to 2 amps...can the wire coming from the distro block be a lower gauge then the wire from the batt. and is that a good idea?

Yes.

This is what you do. Depending on the amp size, you could usually do 4 gauge from the battery to the distro block, then 8 gauge from the distro block to each amp.

A dist block might have something like 4ga input from the battery to 8ga output to the 2 amps. Or 0/1ga input with two 4 ga outputs.
