Midbass drivers

so i made the mistake of buying 8ohm midbass drivers with the thought that i could run them together to the bridged rear channels of my 4 channel. I did because the rated output of the bridged channels at 4 ohms was north of 400 watts and only 150 per channel at 4 ohms. (tn4.900 amp). After playing with the gains on that rear channel (increasing) i determined that was not solid solution. It was recommended that i try stereo mode if i was going to keep them hooked up to the bridged channels. Is stereo mode going to be terrible?

my other option is to find a pair of higher sensitivity mid bass drivers that are 4ohm. I'd prefer pwx 6's based on feedback but looks like everyone is out. Does anyone have a set set away for a rainy day that they'd like to part with. Otherwise an alternative speaker recommendation is greatly appreciated.

Depth wont be an issue, i have treated the doors, I'll have 150 watts available to each speaker, 80-250 hz (may push the higher end toward 400hz)

Budget is around $100.

Thanks pals

stereo integrity Tm65s are EXCELLENT midbass drivers for a 6.5 and can be had for around $150 used over on diyma.

SSA Store - SSAudio Evil6.5 mid-bass

those my fit your bill.

If your building pods, it might be a cool idea to port them. You can get huge output from ported midbass

Evil 6.5s is what's in there now. Just got the wrong ones, should have got the 4ohm versions.

Run me through your set up(gear and how its wired) and what you are trying to achieve. from the sound of it, you have your left and right door speakers wired bridged to the rear channels. That'd be a mono signal and exactly the opposite of how your supposed to wire. When wired in bridged, you sum your left and right inputs to one speaker(or pairs or whatever you have bridged). You want to have your left and your right signals separate as in one driver on the left channel, one driver on the right.

been telling him that.... however he thinks power is more important than a proper signal.

Curious. When bridging a 4 channel like say left speaker to channel 1-2. Right speaker channel 3-4. Do you simply run a left rca to channel 1-2 and a right rca to channel 3-4?
you have to get a female to two male y splitter so you can plug in both. It gave me better and fuller sound when i tried it.

My initial mistake was trying to sneak some power out of my amp by bridging the rear channels. I think I'll be good once i get a pair of 4 ohm drivers. I won't need any more power from amps

Are going to listen to hs about wiring separately or not.
