Fuck IE.
Firefox is where it's at.

googlechrome
Win.

Here's the deal. Each has it's own advantages.

Let's start off with IE7. At first I didn't like it, because it was very new and was running slow. I still don't really like it because of the popups.

Firefox...I have been using this for quite some time but I stopped after another browse came out (soon to be mentioned). Have you guys looked to see how much memory Firefox takes up just by running? Try leaving it open for a few hours and see how much more it has increased in RAM usage. There have been times where FF takes up about 250 MB of ram and I know people who have had FF take up about half a gig, that's just pathetic.

Safari. I used it for a little bit but it seemed to be a little slower than Firefox, not worth running in my opinion.

Opera...I used to use this quite a while ago but since FF came out I used it instead. It was a pretty decent browser, but I can't quite remember why I stopped using it, might have been the interface.

Google Chrome is what I just started using. It is MUCH faster and uses very little RAM. I do have some complaints though. I don't like how you have to access the bookmarks. I heard there are issues with Java and Flash, but I have yet to experience those issues.

I'd stick with IE or Google Chrome. I think eventually Google Chrome will be the choice to go with once they work out some kinks.

Firefox is a perfectly fine basic browser. In my experience, if you throw a boatload of plug-ins at it, it becomes a resource-hungry, unstable mess. A few select plug-ins are fine, but if you want a full-featured browser, Opera is where it's at.

Google Chrome is an okay browser. I've used it a bit, but it lacks the features Opera has that I use on a daily basis. I've experienced some inexplicable crashes w/ Chrome, even post-beta, so it definitely has a ways to go in terms of stability. Also, it's built on the same platform as Apple's Safari browser, which is well-known for serious exploits. I know the beta got reamed for lack of security, though I haven't seen much about the final version's security (or lack thereof).

Internet Explorer ... I can't stand it. There's a laundry list of reasons why I don't use IE and I'm too lazy to go through them all.

Safari ... Still the only browser on the market that makes IE look good.

^^^

Lol, at Safari explanation.

I'm gonna have to try out Opera again. I found another problem with Google chrome, it's taking forever to clear my trash bin for Yahoo Mail and I click on the X to close the tab and it won't allow it.

You're right though, FF does get bad when you have lots of plug ins. I only used one, but it wasn't as good as it used to be IMO.

I think the main thing is as far as which browser is better than the other depends on what the user is using it for. Personally, I open up lots of tabs, I'm talking about anywhere from 25 - 40 tabs, sometimes a little more. I need ease of access for my numerous bookmarks as well. I have about 30 or so, but the thing is, I have like 5 or 6 different saved bookmarks. I really have to get them organized. I just got lazy each time importing them when I formatted and switch my HD's.
