Metra kit install randomly wont turn on..

I have a 2008 pontiac g6 and I purchased and installed the 99-3303 Metra Part # 99-3303 | Chevrolet Malibu Dash kit | Metra Online metra kit for the car so that i could have the diagnostics and MPG etc.

Everything installed ok and was working. The first time i encountered the problem was about 24 hours after install. I go into a store to get some groceries and when i come back and start the car the deck and the lcd for diag never turned on. I went home and checked the fuse thinking it blew, sure enough fuse was fine. I put the fuse back into the slot and sure enough the radio turns right on, with the keys not even in the ignition. So i turn the car on and off and bam the radio is working fine.

Now fast forward about 3 weeks and boom, today the exact thing happens. The deck and diag lcd are not turning on.. I pull fuse and put back in and the deck and lcd turn right back on..

Does anyone know what is happening? Is this a common problem or is my metra kit fucked?

Go through your wiring ensure all connections are secure.

Check your ground.

Microhaxo- did you ever figure the problem out? I was thinking of installing one of these in my Malibu but I'm reading about problems with this kit all over the internet. Any insight? Should I even bother?
