Memphis vs IA

I am planning on running 2 12" Memphis PR's, about 4^3ft ported at 32Hz powered by a MA Audio 1889i amp. From what I understand, 187's perform closely to Kicker CompVR's and from my perspective PR > CVR.

But since there is a lot of talk about the Lethal Injections, I would figure I would try and ask about this. How would a 12" LI ported with around 2.5^3ft tuned to around 28-32Hz off an MA Audio HK800D compare to the PR's? I heard these LI's compare to L7's in terms of SPL but I'm pretty sure the PR's will take this one. Any thoughts? BTW, I can get 2 PR's(w/ 3 year warranty) for the price of 1 LI if that matters.

oh hold on, first off when u campare woofer u have to say talk in terms of price range and the company's line ranking. U can not compare and l7 to and PR, that is crazy with that said u also can not compare and LI to an PR. But u can compare and IA 187, kicker comp, and a memphis PR. Those that I just named are all entry level subs.

SO if u could plz reinstate ur question.

What I am trying to say is......... 2 12" Memphis PR's > 1 12" IA LI. Ported vs. Ported.

I was just stating that the LI compares to an L7 which I previously had, so I know what kind of SPL I'd be dealing with.

And basically, my question was what is everyone's comments on the setup. Do the 2 12 PR's over the 1 12 LI? Both setups would about the same price

how bout some memphis m3's 12' i have some for sale, only used for 2 months, way better than the pr's, and get loud in a ported box....

once again u can not compare and entery level so an mid line sub. But if ur must kno the LI will get way louder

Not trying to start a fight here but I don't believe 1 12" LI will get louder than 2 PR's... My reasoning? Here it is...

I talk to a guy who's heard all subs from IA.. and he said 187's hang nicely with Kicker CompVR's in terms of SPL but have much better SQ. And Memphis PR > Kicker CVR. I then asked over at the IA Forum about 2 12" 187's vs. 1 12" LI and the reply was that the 187's will get louder, and that was from Nick. So therefore you can compare those subs, especially 2 vs. 1.

My conclusion - 187's compare to Kicker CVR's and subs along those lines.. PR's are in that range and will outperform a CVR anyday for less money and w/ less power. So if 2 12" 187's will outperform a single LI then 2 12" PR's should outperform a single LI as well.

well i kno u are not trying to fight. I have not heard an LI But i just blew and memphis pr 12. THere are a few guys here that own the LI, But i mean it is hard to compare a sub that u can buy for like 70 bux to an sub that sells for like $250. I mean it is all in the setup.

But to tell u the truth it sounds like u already have in mind what u want.

Yeah I totally agree with you. LI's sound like awesome subs and are pretty cheap as well. I was just asking for a few more opinions. Thanks guys

the prices for the IA LI on the site are only a qoute for dealers. If you want the real price email him with your zip code and he will give you a price.
