Memphis PR subs

Back when I had my 12" Memphis PR's I had them running on a ST1000D at 1ohm for nearly a year getting all of 900-1000rms and I never once had any issues. But I also had them in a huge box. The guy I sold them to still has them and is still beating on them with the same amp in the same box nearly 5 year's later. The people who have problem's with PR's are people who probably don't know how to properly set up their system. I doubt you will find many sub's in the $70-$80 price range that will compete with them. Just be sure to get them from a authorized retailer. If you buy them online memphis WILL NOT mess with them even if you are willing to pay.

Memphis power reference subs are some of the most underrated entry level subs I know of. I've seen many cases where PR's are louder than CVR's with less power, sq is subjective. I had a pair of 15's on 1500rms of clean power and I TRIED to beat them to death. After 15 minutes of abuse they were pretty warm, but still not very stinky and no smoke. I feel confident they would have lasted an additional 5 minutes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I had that as a daily set-up for several months in which they got beat on pretty often. They still work to this day. I could go on about other set-ups using the PR's doing respectable numbers, but the OP can find those with a search.

You must've gotten a lemon from the factory. Usually not common, but shit happens.

Worst advice ever. Sounds to me like you were clipping the sub.

I had 2 PR's off about 850-900rms. Beat on them daily. Had them for well over 8 months before I sold em in fine working condition.

I had 2 pr15's in an expedition 2.5 sealed per on a st1000d and they sounded great and were decently loud. the amp ran out of steam long before the subs did. great subs for the price.

its cool dude you'll find out what you think of them when you get them, idc what other people say cause ive heard good sound lol, that sub is so weak ill never have one again. granted it was in a sealed 1 cube box or so but wutev, we all have different tastes i guess

Yeah smartass, clipping with 400 watts can kill lots of subs, not just a PR.

Realize by the reputation of these subs that you must have gotten a fluke sub or your dumbass burnt it up on your own.

I sale PR's everyday, have had two returned in 2 years.

You should be able to find a dealer local for them. Web site says they are out of stock anyway.

Im going to guess the cause of death was his 1 cube box rolling off too high,, i run a pair of pr's in 1 cube each also and the last power they seen was 600 each.Granted it was for burping.
