Memphis PR subs

ok so im thinking about getting a system in my Oldsmobile intrigue so im not sure how much cubes i have in my trunk but i planned on getting the memphis PR subs and i was jus curious do you think they could get crazy loud in a ported box with 3 subs ran off a memphis pr 1000.1 watt amp or even a hifonics amp with about 1200 watts

yep it would be "CRAZY" loud! Now "STUPID" loud would definately need more power than "CRAZY" loud!

i just want something louder then my previous setups and i dont wanna have to upgrade electrical....i was thinking of going with either 3 memphis m3's or 3 Rf p3's but then again im on a budget and the memphis subs are cheap

you get what you pay for. $59.00 is $59.00....no they wont get crazy loud BUT if you run them off a hifonics amp at 1ohm then you can run 4 of these subs. that will get decently loud.

ya i was thinking the same i heard a lot of good things about the memphis m3 subs and ya i know there cheap subs but i was impressed with their pr 15

Get 4 PRs so you can run it at 1 ohms. Let us know the deminsions of your trunk. You'll need at least 7 cu.ft. for 4 PRs.

I ran 2 PRs and they were really loud for only 60 bucks.

I'd do the m3s. My local shop is a memphis dealer, head installer raves about the m3s price vs. performance

I would run 2 in a trunk car in 5cuft tunned to 30 to 34hz.Also do not run anymore then 250watts to each they don't like to be over powered and you wont gain any output.I seen 1 tested at my buddy's shop they didn't gain any db giving it more power then 250watts and 2.5 was there sweet spot but if you want better low end go with 3cuft each.But anyways 2 12 memphis pr's off 500watts in a 5cuft box tuned to 30hz should be able to pull close to 143db depending on your install the car that it was in was a grand gt 1 seat down sealed up on the termlab

ive had mine on way more then 250 watts and they are still going strong,,,but i agree 250 would be better for a daily beater.

Back when I had my 12" Memphis PR's I had them running on a ST1000D at 1ohm for nearly a year getting all of 900-1000rms and I never once had any issues. But I also had them in a huge box. The guy I sold them to still has them and is still beating on them with the same amp in the same box nearly 5 year's later. The people who have problem's with PR's are people who probably don't know how to properly set up their system. I doubt you will find many sub's in the $70-$80 price range that will compete with them. Just be sure to get them from a authorized retailer. If you buy them online memphis WILL NOT mess with them even if you are willing to pay.
