Hi, I just got the Kicker L7 12 inch subs from 901 sounds in memphis. My concern is the amp the installed with my setup. Its a JVC

Min Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 1.75, 49.6

Max Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 3.25, 92.1

The max output power of the is amp is 1200 watts but the kicker l7s I have got a 1500 watt peak rating. So is this amp a little underpowered? I want my subs to sound the loudest possible. Thank you.

This could get ugly. On the subs, you should be fine in my opinion. You never look at peak only at the rms watts of the sub. As far as the door speakers, you may just want to have them tune it for you or you can try tuning it yourslef, I'll wait for someone else to chime in on those.

if you want to give your subs there full RMS get a bigger amp. If its dual 2ohm get an amp that does 1500 at 1 ohm, If its dual 4 ohm get an amp that does 1500 at 2ohm. Upgrade to a set of components upfront powered by another amp to make them equal the output of your sub.

Yeah dont look at max watts only pay attention to rms

they prolly gave you 2 D4 subs to wire it to 1 ohm for the "1000" watts. what youll need to do is get an amp that does 1500 watts at 1ohm at least. you might have to upgrade the electrical a little bit depending on your car as well.

Did you get 2 subs? and what is the impedance of the subs you got? As far as the amp, it will run 1 L7 just fine. The amp is CEA compliant so it probably puts out the power it say's it does.
