Memphis MOJO 4k HELP!!!

Well, I bought a Memphis 4k from a member off here at the beginning of the year (Will keep him anonymous for the time being) and it is having major issues. At high volume it cuts off and will not turn back on until the car is shut off and then turned back on. the gain is not even up 1/8th of the way. Never dip any lower that 13.8 volts. This only happens at high volume. I don't know what to do. As stated this was installed today for the fist time since I received the amp. Its been along time since I bought it so what should I do? I just don't get why this would be happening? If anyone has experience with this amp or has any suggestions or questions please chime in. This is so upsetting to say the least.

I had a Memphis PR16-1.5KD that had the transistors break in shipment. Chances are the legs of your transistors were not supported properly and broke off. Chris @ dB-r is familiar with fixing the problem of the crappy solder job on the transistors and can fix them. The only drawback is that you will PAY for his quality repair.

my zx850 is the same way at full tilt for anymore than about 5 mins the power light turns off i turn the vol down and the power light comes back on, it only does it on highpass on low with subs hooked up to it i have no problem

and it cuts out on high pass with only using 2 channels its odd, i was told its getting warm and the connection is comming loose on the solder connection for the power or ground but not sure

No that you are wrong in any way but we are almost in october? Are you actually expecting the selling to reimburse you months and months later.

IMO you should always test your amp thoroughly within a week or so to ensure there are no issues. Unfortunately a lot of issues with amps are not anything you can see from the outside.

You are correct. I know its my fault for not checking. I don't expect to be reimbursed. I have not even contacted the guy. I know it will be a waste of time due to the time that has passed. And if it was sold to me with an known issue, of course i wont get a refund.
