I believe this is because of the "Similar Threads" box at the bottom of the page when you are looking at a thread. It mainly only shows threads from pre-'03. Fix that, along with the search function (which basically only shows me threads from atleast 1yr ago when I try to look for something), and I think the problem would be cut down some (a lot).

I will probly get lots of negative feedback on this one but how about instead of post count you have ratings. Like the mods will be the mods but the more helpfull you are you get rated by the people you help and fellow forum members. Kinda like EBAY that way people can read about you before they take the advise you give them. It would also eliminate post *****s.

I like the mod power in lounge idea.
