Melted car wiring

All of my wiring in my Ford Focus melted. I have had a system hooked up in the car for almost a year with no real problems. My mechanic said, though he doesn't know what caused the wiring to melt, he doesn't think it had anything to do with my system. I'm asking this because I'm getting another Focus and don't want to have to worry about ****ing this one up too.

maybe it was too much neon, LED's, HID's, fog lights, and whatever else light were on the car. Actually I shouldnt assume you are one of those ricer fegs. Are you?

If your car burned down and it wasnt caused by the system, I recommend not buying the same car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i tried to bypass something in an 06 cobalt to get a remote turn on and obviously hooked something up wrong and burnt the crap out of that remote wire. I tried to go through the fuse box and it worked, but after being extremely happy i got this mans system working we saw the smoke and i had to rip everything back up.

Sorry to thread jack, but what did i do wrong? Two other guys who know a good bit about audio took a look and couldnt figure it out either.

you probably had the remote pinched and it grounded...
