I have my box in the back of my ex bolted down to a sheet of 1/2" mdf that takes up the entire truck so it doesn't fly around. The thing is it kind of smells and i'm concerned that it's toxic.... is there a different type of wood I can use instead that wont smell and is maybe safer to breath?

GTFO of car audio. You're not man enough for the Deebeez

MDF is terrible to use as a base. I'm sure you think in an accident the mdf would prevent the box from hitting you...but have you ever seen MDF and impacts? Ya it's dense but hit it with a hammer and youll break it. Those bolts will just tear out of the mdf in a crash

Von how do you really feel? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Smell should go away in time or put an air freshener in your ride...

I smell my box you made me, but nothing a couple of air fresheners didn't fix. I mean why would one want to risk death trying to have some bump in the trunk? So take the box out and live longer.
