I don't have any saws or experience, so I can't do them.

Also, would I be able to fit a 6.5" mid in a door that comes stock with a 6x8?

Yes you can, I just did it actually in a 91 Thunderbird. If you are doing components then you can put the tweeter above it too, but your midbass will lack. Also a lot of manufacturers will include 6x8-->6.5 adapters WITH their component sets.

yup yup , i went over board on yours tho. i even added 4 counter sunk holes for the 4 self tapping screws to be put on
