Mb Quart ONX1.1500D do rated?

this doesnt help... i am trying to decide whether or not to spend the extra money... if the onyx is good for more than looks i will get it and upgrade subs later... if not ill get the discus since it will push the 1k watts.... and yeah i was told by some people that the discus line was benched and do about 200-300 watts more than rated...
it does help...

if what u say is true, that the discus does 200-300 watts more than rated, then it being rated at 750@2ohms, do the math. add 250 and bam u have 1000 watts.

the onxy is rated for 1000 watts, so if it does 1000, or does more doesnt matter if you want 1000 watts at 2 ohms, then grab the cheaper.

how is that not helpful? idk about u but if i know it does rated, doesnt distort or send a clipped signal too easily and i need X watts, then ill take the cheapest one

Well I would rather have the head room and it's not helpful because I want someone that used it to tell me if it's like the dsc but more powerful at higher ohms... 70 bucks ain't **** if I only have to buy it once and it's good for a couple subwoofer upgrades... I don't like to be JUST at the watts I need because you have to push it harder to get it its rms than pushing it semi hard and getting the same watts. I would just as soon go pick up an ap 30001d and know I don't have to push it to it's max to get what I need. Headroom is key to me..

A 100-200 watt difference is inaudible. In most cases its a .2-3 db difference so unless your chasing numbers and your positive the newer model will put out more then save the 70 and put it into a good box/design. Thats where you will see the most gain.

yep id actually bet money on it...also i dont think every single dsc did 200--400 over rated...i ran my dsc1500 with great electrical and i dont see all the hype...it was doing 1500 im sure but i wouldnt go as far as to say it was doing near 1900rms...it was worth every penny i think but it was a budget amp...

I was thinking about getting a mb quart 1500d but then again. I agree, I like the headroom of 200-300 rms or more. If a previous amp was underrated, I believe the new amps should be as well or your fooling consumers. I may just go with the alpine m1000. Does anyone know how much alpine's are generally underrated?

Alpines are pretty good amps, but not for the money. MBQ has a MUCH better performance/dollar ratio.

I just bought a MB Quart ONX 4.80 for $125 (it was $160 obo and I entered $125 and won it:D). I doubt they will do more then what they are rated.

Looking for a used DSC1500.1 or ONX 1500.1 now.
