Will do if I get to mess with the truck today. Have a funeral to attend in a little bit and also have to work tonight. I'll get some pics asap. I believe the plug is just an older style square plug vs the oval plug on my original alt.Can you get a pic of the new plug for me?
I messed up when I ordered the subs and ended up with 4 dual 4 ohm subs. (was going to run 2 then decided to run 4) So my wiring options were pretty much stuck @ 2ohm. Hard to find 2k+ @ 2ohm without spending $500+. I ran across this amp for a fair price and seen a lot of people have ran them lower than 1ohm...so I figured why not!? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It will give me the power I want, and if it blows Im not too concerned since I didnt pay an arm and a leg for it.I don't get it sometimes if a amp is 1ohm stable everyone wants to run it at .5ohm if a amp is .5ohm stable everyone wants to run it at .25 when does it stop
From what I have read, everyone that has tried them at .5 has had success...for some reason I can't seem to keep mine out of protect. Just my luck I guess. Going to mess with it a bit more..check the gains and grounds etc and if that don't work I give up! Lolthats weird on the few hifonics ive fixed ive installed them and wired them at .5 and never had a issue. they are still banging. those amps are suppose to be a better build.
My power wire is probably 7-8 inches long from battery to amp. Grounded to the back battery its maybe a foot long or less... is it possible that I have the subs wired lower than .5? I think that's as low as possible with 4 dual 4 woofers though.i know what i had to do was put the battery right next to the amp and cut the wire down to about 3 feet or so. u have your amp grounded or ran straight to the battery?
