So, I feel like a complete idiot... I spent over an hour trying to get the alt off. Turns out the bolt I was having a hard time with, didnt even hold the alt on. :verymad: The bolts that i actually needed off were off in about 5 mins. So after an hour of messing with the wrong bolt, I finally got the alt off. But by that time I was hot and pissed off and had to leave to go to a friends visitation. In other words, today was a complete failure. Going to try to get the other alt on tomorrow if its not raining.

Another question though... The alt I have came with a different style plug that I'll have to wire in to my existing wires I guess. The original alt only had 1 wire going in to the plug itself...so I'm confused why the new one has 4-5 wires. Where the hell do I put all of those wires? :D @pro\-rabbit

It never stops that's just it.

Will do if I get to mess with the truck today. Have a funeral to attend in a little bit and also have to work tonight. I'll get some pics asap. I believe the plug is just an older style square plug vs the oval plug on my original alt.

I messed up when I ordered the subs and ended up with 4 dual 4 ohm subs. (was going to run 2 then decided to run 4) So my wiring options were pretty much stuck @ 2ohm. Hard to find 2k+ @ 2ohm without spending $500+. I ran across this amp for a fair price and seen a lot of people have ran them lower than 1ohm...so I figured why not!? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It will give me the power I want, and if it blows Im not too concerned since I didnt pay an arm and a leg for it.

The amp hates me. Even with decent voltage it won't stay out of protect at .5. Never saw below 13v at the amp on the dmm but still protects. Works fine at 2ohm... I'm ready to say f it and sell everything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thats weird on the few hifonics ive fixed ive installed them and wired them at .5 and never had a issue. they are still banging. those amps are suppose to be a better build.
From what I have read, everyone that has tried them at .5 has had success...for some reason I can't seem to keep mine out of protect. Just my luck I guess. Going to mess with it a bit more..check the gains and grounds etc and if that don't work I give up! Lol

i know what i had to do was put the battery right next to the amp and cut the wire down to about 3 feet or so. u have your amp grounded or ran straight to the battery?
My power wire is probably 7-8 inches long from battery to amp. Grounded to the back battery its maybe a foot long or less... is it possible that I have the subs wired lower than .5? I think that's as low as possible with 4 dual 4 woofers though.
