Mb q dsc1500 (no sound????)

Ok, I just finished installing my new amp and for some strange reason I have no audio at all... I was running two mrp 500's and two 12" type r's w/o any problems, so that rules out the rca cords.

Its weird, I have no sound at the main input but I have sound on "one" of the slave inputs, just one not both. The amp powers up just fine and doesn't go into protect or get hot I just have no sound. Another thing, I can't adjust gain or bass boost or lp filter on slave, nothing changes. I noticed first thing how sloppy and loose the rca terminals are on the main in/out but the slave is tight??? I also remember a while back there was a guy selling a 2k discus that had previously broke the rca term's and had them repaired by a local shop. Maybe the terms are defective all together on this one Idk.

So far I'm not to impressed with maxsonics to say the least. The funniest thing was they claim the terms are 0awg..... I had to trim the **** out of my 0 in order to fit, it looked like 2awg when I was done. Then they expect people to hold down "0awg" 2awg with cheap as phillips set screws. I went and got some stainles allen's instead. Maybe thats why i have no sound..... hmmmmm??????? No seriously though, I need some ideas

Thanks

I only get sound on slave/slave.... master/master nothing??? Should only one, lets say red term put out signal to both subs? If I plug them both in they cut the signal (in slave mode). In master it doesn't matter whether I have one or both plugged in, no sound. Idk which is which, as far as left and right(white/red) but then again its a mono so i guess it wouldn't need designated term, their all black...

Wth is slave for anyway? never used it b4. I always run master on LP.

Thanks

slave is if you strap 2 amps together to get more powa
I thought thats what the master out was for, whats the master out for then lol? I've got in/out/slave... Ive tried in/slave and switched it from master to slave on each one with the gain/bass/lp/all set to half but I turned every one down and then up and still no sound other than in slave. Why is it that in slave you get no adjustment and sound out of just one terminal?

I have a hard time deciphering your posts so your just running 1 dsc1500 right or 2?

if your only running 1 you need to have it on master and have the rca into the "line in" then it should work, you dont use the slave/master rca jacks at all for 1 amp

if you run 2 amps then you send master out to the other amps slave in and set that one to slave

I'm just running one not two, sorry for the confusion. I first tried it on "line in/master" and everything was set from factory in the middle like bass, gain,lp ect... I double checked everything and then hooked up the batt, turned the hu on, amp came to life, but with no sound.

I then checked the rca's to see that they were still connected, they were. I then went and switched left w/ right and still no sound. I then cycled it from master to slave few times and made sure it was set to master. Then I adjusted the gain and boost, still nothing. Then I tried it in slave for the hell of it and when I plugged red in both 12's came alive. Then I hooked up white and it cut out. I then switched it back to master line in and still nothing. It was late so I just disconnected the remote and called it a day. Now I'm a go check it out today but figured I'd ask around on here.

I'm wondering if its not something inside the amp its self, cuz like I said the terminals are really weak and wobbly on the master in/out but nice and tight on salve. Is your rca's terms loose on the amp too? Maybe I got a defective amp Idk.

The only thing I changed was my power cable from 4ga to 0ga. I had already upgraded my ground to 0ga when I had the MRP's cuz I was only running 8ga initially. Everything else should have been the same, subs are wired down to 1ohm and connectins are secure....

Is there a way to test the hu rca out put with a MM, I was just going to hook one mrp as a test subject but it'll be a lil dificult to clamp a 0awg cable to a standard spade clamp terminal. I'm thinking I got what I paid for considering the poor quality in the rca terms and philips set screws it came with.

This, and if it still doesnt work take a look inside prolly blew some fets.
How would I have done that and were did you get the idea. The amp would stink and it would be in protect if it had blowe fets cuz my power supply would most likely be fried if the fets fried. FAIL!!!!

Where did you buy the amp new at? If you got it from sonic then you got a bad unit.
Maybe try taking your old amp and hooking it back up. If it works fine, then I'd agree with the post above and say your new amp is bad.

K, IDK WTF I did wrong the first time but I just tried it today and as soon as I plugged both rca's in..... BAMMMM!!!!!! IN MY FACE!!!!! HAHA I LOVED IT //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif!!!! I guess it just needed to settle in and cozzy up to my subs or something idk but it seems to work fine. It doesnt get hot and it sounds just as clean and hits harder than my mrp's did. I'm still not impressed with my rca terminals and the fact that you have to trim the 0awg down to 4awg and I had to spend another 20$ on "real" set screws, but it works so I'll live with it.

Now I just need to figure out how to finish my big 3 upgrade. I got the main power lead for the amp and both amp/eng grounds, but I cant see were my lil puny 8ga alternator wire goes, It doesnt run to my bat post I know that. I only have two wires at the pos post, one that goes to the amp and one to the solinoid for the starter. Were would it be hiding? Since I cant fit 0ga in the factory loom anyway can I just disconnect the 8 and run 0 securely from the positive post on the alt to the pos bat post? Should I fuse the cable? Thanks for the help and sorry for wasting your guy's time on a problem that fixed its self. I feal retarded haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Thanks for the help though guys
