Fusing confusing

Im going to be running a 1500 watt amp to two 12's and need to know what my inline power fuse should be.I'll be running 0awg and my alt is a 100a. I know thats way to small but I'm going to set the gains to minimal voltage drop. I need to know if I should fuse to the alt or the amp. Should I use a 100a or a 150a fuse or 125 in between. I dont see the amperage exceeding the alt so I was planing to use a 100a. Fusing

Id run a 200.......larger is fine if you have a short it will still go pop and do its job
Really 200? I thought you only fuse to maximum amp draw wich would be 150a. I figured since I only have a 100a alternator that the amp draw would never exced 100amps. I only have a 150a anl type fuse, I doo have a 200a but that was cuz I had planned on a secondary amp to power my front and rear speakers but have decided that for now I'm just going to have to wait. Why would I want to run a 200a and not a 150a. Either way they would go pop when shorted but why 200a?

put the fuse between the amp and battery... id look at the mfg suggested fusing for your amp and not exceed that too much, bc proper fusing can help with voltage drop protection for your amp

but the 150 should be fine.
