Maybe thinking about a new amplifier.

Currently have a Hifonics Bxi1606d, Im looking into possibly getting one of the following:

Elemental Designs's Nine.1

Pros:

1200w @ 1-Ohm @ 12.5v

Cheaper at $295

Cons:

A little bigger.

Bad rep with the company from alot of people.

Sundown's SAZ 1000D

Pros:

Smaller(Easier to fit underneath the seat.)

Better rep, possibly underrated?

Cons:

More expensive

Only 1000watts @ 1-Ohm compared to the above.

Just wondering who all has had experience with the above, it'll be powering the sub woofer in my signature.

People say "I hate eD" and then in the same breath say "but the nine.1 is kick ***"

Nothing wrong with that amp + 5 year warranty.

The sundown does about 1100w. As you can read below.

NINE .1 owns great power and awesome amp but sundown is the shit when it comes down to WArrenty. think about it good rep from every one and on top of that the product is awesome

can't go wrong with nine.1 and I have had only had good business with elemental designs.

I guess the real question would be, would any of those amplifiers be a marginal performance increase from the 1606d?

Your hifonics might produce slightly more power, but either the sundown or ED amp will produce better sounding bass, and cleaner power!

Because Im really thinking about buying a Sundown SAZ-1000D and having a full Sundown amplifier setup in my vehicle if it'll improve the sub woofer's performance, though the subwoofer plays fine as it is doing right now.

Any possible future upgrades or even now upgrades if worth it are always welcomed for discussion.

If you want something for future upgrades then get a SAZ-1500D instead (you don't have to use the full power now)...great amp from a great company.
