Maybe New Sub Stage

I am an XFL15 dual 2 in a 3.5 cubic box tuned to 30. Now, powered by a skar sk-1500 that does 1500 at 1 ohm, I am wondering if I should slam a 600rms sub, like tha skar vvx at 1 ohm becuase of box rise, or just keep the xfl. I don't really have the funds to get 2 12's or I would in a heartbeat. If I did get 2 subs, could I wire it down to .5 ohms and get about 2k out of it before box rise?

Mainly, should I trade my subs for a smaller wattage or keep what I have?

I listen to a lot of decaf type of music, a lot of remixes. I don't want it to be so loud that it can be heard from miles away. If that doesn't make sense, I'd rather it be SPL over noise level. I got 6.5 components powered up by another amp so I can hear just fine.

you'll gain a lot of output changing up to 34-35 hz with your box. You might also want to invest in sound deadening.

Yeah. Sound deadening is coming up next. I mean, I wanted to do about 32 or 33, but that'll come if I build a new box for anything. I just don't know what I want. I love what I have now, but I don't think it pounds like it should be.

you'd be surprised how much of an impact 3 to 5 hz has on output.

Because I listen to either remixes of rap or rap, so I think 33 would be a fine medium. I just don't know what I want to do subwoofer wise. I can get a Skar VVXV2 for 165 shipped but I am not sure how much power that would really bring after box rise.

Keep the xfl. Get a better box. The xfl subs like bigger boxes 4.5 cubic ft at 32 hertz
