Maybe A Stupid Question?

I am purchasing 2 l7 15's and looking to power them but i honestly dont know alot about car audio.

I dont have unlimited funds so i was looking at a 2 channel 4000W amp vs 2 2000W monoblock amps.

What would be the difference because to me it seems they both would be giving off 2000W to each sub just the 4000w is cheaper to go with

is that even worth putting on my l7's, i know they arent high line but they are considerably cheaper and i guess there could be a great reason for that

its your money to spend but i would look around on this site or down4sound.com(there are other sites too) for a better amp. TRUST ME ive gone through this with a lanzar and other amps that were cheap like that. most have horrible heat dissipation and they definatly DO NOT put out that much power. they might do the listed RMS. dont look at peak power either.

Id put something better than those amps on some L7s

save up then buy a quality amp. if u treat it right it will last.

If you cant afford better amps then dont get those speakers itll sound better to buy speakers and amps that match up around the same rms compared to under powering better subs.

Put those subs in a slightly larger than normal box and find an amp on here that does 1kw at 1ohm, and you'll be fine.

I'd recommend 9-10ft^3 with a 32-33hz tuning if using a 1kw amp.

thanks for all the responses i figured i needed to get a quality amp and this proves what i was thinking =p

just gonna downgrade subs and go from there
