May have bought a broken system

Alright sweet the headunit turned on (didnt have enough time to test functions, the wires were barely long enough to touch) for a second so im assuming its fine. The subs are good so im just gonna assume the amp is in good shape because i lost my ground wire lol. Dunno it might not be the best system but it beats what you can get at bestbuy/circuit city for that price. They had just a 400W sub and amp on sale for like 400 bucks in the add. I wish i could put it in myself but it looks like a lot of work removing all the paneling and stuff. I think i get the basic idea, one wire branches out from the amp to the battery and then another from the battery to the ground on the amp. Then one wire goes from the amp to the deck, then another to the speakers and another to the subs right? It actually sounds pretty easy but i dont know if i have everything i need to even get the old deck out and put the new one in, let alone put everything in.

id say do a little research on here for a week or so...its def not as hard as it sounds....also do a little research on here for what things cost....prices at BB CC are a little deceiving. there are retail prices and then internet prices! most can be had for about half price on the internet.

I live in waukeshau which is just south of milwaukee.

I was trying to put my deck in but came across a problem. I got the old one out (not an easy task in an eclipse, the shifter is right in front of the deck so i had to take all the paneling apart) but when i went to put the new one in everything fit except the wiring harness. The harness plugged straight into the back of the old deck, but not into the new one. Do i gotta buy some kind of adapter or something? I believe the new deck has 8 slots in the bottom and 6 up top with two spaces in the middle and the old deck just had 8 slots top and bottom.

Kinda mad i had to put everything back together and now i gotta take it apart again to put it in lol. Oh well. Trying to do this all myself since its 70 bucks for best buy to put in an amp and another 50 for the deck even though you have to take the deck out to wire it up to the amp anyways right?

The deck you bought should have come with its own harness, which you will need to connect to your factory wires (there should be another harness in there already). If not, you may have to try to find one on eBay or something.

Well it came with a harness plugged into the back but the one end that didnt plug into the deck was just a bunch of wires hanging out.

I dont get how those wires are plugged into the harness through. Wouldnt i need one with the plastic clip on both ends?

Wow dude that's pretty creative. I had never seen that before. You must have made that up yourself right? Wish i was as clever as you to coin a phrase like that that i have seen on just about every forum i have ever been on. Just because i dont know what im doing when putting in a deck that must make you better than me. Just because i have questions about something ive never done before, ****, im an idiot. Think i'm going to go stick my head in the oven because im not as smart as you. Idiot

On a side not to anyone else, do i gotta buy a special wiring harness to hook that thing up to so i can install the deck in this car?

umm well there are usually diagrams on the internet. if you give me the model of headunit or year f car i will help look for you
