Maxing out my amp gain?

My gains are maxed out on my PG amp, and I still didn't even get the voltage I wanted. Pioneer 2V head units FTL, and PG amps that like a high level input even more FTL! haha

But its still not clipping because I didn't just randomly turn the gains up all the way..

Ignore everyone else on here, and just stick with Helotaxi.. he'll lead you in the right direction.

if you are gonna use a bass boost of any kind, make sure you set it where you want it before you adjust the gain.

duno if anyone mentioned this already, but it obviously doesnt make sense for it to put out 150 @ 4 ohm, then suddently jump up to 1,500 @ 2ohm. I mean seriously....

I'll dumb it down for u. U set ur gains at the max volume u would listen to something at, so u would want max power out of ur amp at that volume since it's the max ur going to listen to. If u change a setting higher (Bass boost, EQing, Bass remote, w/e) after that, it raises the max power of the amp to a lower volume cuse the signal is boosted even more.

So say ur amp is set to put out 100watts at 25/30 volume on the HU, if u use bass boost or something then it would make it so the amp puts out 100watts at a lower volume cuse the signal is boosted even more, so it's possible it would put out 100watts at 20/30 on the HU. But then someone stupid (hopefully not u) would think it doesnt max out till 25/30 on the volume knob, so he/she'll turn it up to 25/30 on the HU, but this would cause the amp to try to put out more power then it's rated to do, problem is that it wouldn't be clean power, it would be distorted/clipped power, and that's when subs/speakers get damaged/blown.

someone can correct something if they want to, duno if i made a good example.

^^^ sounds good to me. To the OP, all of this info is in the gain setting tutorial sticky. it tells exactly how to set your gains if you are gonna use any kind of bass boost.
