Soundstream Amplifiers

I have the Soundstream Picasso Seires 4 channel amp, 520 watts rms total output. its 4ohm stereo rating is 80 x 4. i have 2 pairs of comps (MTX) about 90 rms. Are these ratings on the amp tru or underrated or overrated. Also is Sounstream Good quality amplifiers?

I just hooked up my PCA3500D soundstream and I like it so far. It is overrated in power, but a good deal and doesnt get hot at all. It should work with those MTXs pretty well.

yeah, i have a 500.4 vangogh. only hooked it up once and it did pretty well. dont know if its over or underrated;all i know is that it says its 125 x 4 @ 4 ohms. i guess i'll see tomorrow when i hook my d5 600.4 up and see can i see a big difference.

soundstream amp's.....well the new one's do rated power! the older one's do well over rated power! they have alway's been strong and will probably alway's be strong

my pca2000d was a beast and a half. as stated above, bumped my mt's like a mother never with a complaint. never even really got warm.

i blew it because of a stupid wiring accident, cant wait till she gets repaired!!

As far as i know soundstream amps do rated power.

I have a ega 900d and it is a very solid amp. Get it you won't be dissapointed.

The Van Gogh amps were the best they made at the time and still fetch a good price on eBay when someone is willing to part with one, which isn't very often. That should tell you something about the quality.

not really sure on the new refference amps they have now but the vga series was made in the usa. i dont have a part by part shematic but the basic design is on par with the older refference amps made in the early 90's but with more bell's and whistles
